Haiti Relief
On Tuesday January 12, 2010, the country of Haiti was transformed
forever when a catastrophic 7.0 earthquake struck the island nation.
World organizations are estimating that anywhere between 50,000
to 100,000 people may have perished.  The majority of the
population is unable to procure the basic necessities such as: water,
food, shelter and healthcare.  Haiti’s lack of resources prior to the
earthquake only serve to exacerbate the current relief efforts.
The Black Professional Network (BPN) seeks to raise funds to support
on-going relief efforts. In the past few days, BPN has raised over
$90,000.00.  We plan to raise One Million Dollars.   The funds will be
donated to five specific organizations currently working on the relief
effort i.e. Yele, Doctors Without Borders, Partners in Health, Care
Haiti, and Lumbi.  The specific relief assistance for the Earthquake
Disaster Relief Project will include:

•        Securing Corporate Donors.
•        Partnering with local organizations to raise funds.
•        Coordinating strategic philanthropic efforts to support the
above organizations.

BPN is currently devising a strategic plan to provide continuous
assistance to Haiti, and her people. As Haiti's motto reminds us,
"L'Union Fait La Force" or there is "Strength Through Unity."
